My baby turns two today

Where does the time go?? 2 years ago this morning, I gave birth to Micah Timothy Perry Milano at roughly 5:30am. Here's his actual birth story.
OMG what an amazing experience!!! I woke up at 1:15 with my water broken. I wasn't having contractions yet though but decided to call the midwives to give them the "heads up". About 2:30 I guess, we decided to start filling the tub and called the miwives back. They started getting here about 3:30 (there were 3 here with us). We sat in the livingroom and watched the olympics and talked until about 4:45 when I decided it was time to get in the tub. The contrax were about 3 minutse apart at this point but getting intense. At 5:15ish I told them the contrax were right on top of each other and I was getting really uncomfortable and was constantly switching positions. At 5:28 I told them it was burning and baby was coming. There was a sheer moment of panic and they told my where to push "down there" to help avoid the burning. I did it ALL myself. The head started to crown and with 2 pushes it was out. When the shoulders presented, I pulled baby out of the water! The kids were all there with us and Tim pretty much stood back and watched. The midwives mostly sat on the bed and coached me. I did it all alone and it was amazing. We sat in the tub for a few minutes and waited for the placenta to deliver. It had already quit pulsing so Tim cut the cord. I then sat in bed with Micah for probably 20 minutes, nursed him right away and then handed him off when I was ready. He has an amazing suck already and is absolutely perfect!!!!Anyways, stats.....he is 7lb 12oz and 22" long!!!!! (I knew he would be long though)time of birth was 5:31am on the 21st.

It's amazing to think he's now 2! He is so much fun and ALL boy! He loves to run and run and run until he can't stand up anymore and falls flat on his face. He loves to jump off the furniture and wrestle with anyone who will wrestle with him. His favorite toys are his Little People playcenters. We don't even bother to put them away anymore cause we know that he's going to spend a big part of his day up in his room playing with them. He also loves to be outside, but will quickly take off so itsn't allowed past the back deck too often. Here's some before and after pictures of him when he was first born and him now.

I'll post the recent ones tonight.

Wedding Reception

This weekend was my brother's wedding reception. They got married a couple weeks ago in Mexico and had the reception this weekend. It was nice, but their DJ sucked! He played "Vogue" by Madonna. How in the world do you dance to that or "Walk Like an Egyptian"?? My kids were adorable though and were the life of the party. Mikayla is quite the little dancer, but I'm not sure where she learned all the moves from. She would really follow the sound of the music and even though she didn't know the words, you would think that she did. At one point they were playing "Dancing Queen" and people asked me if she was in a dance class and had done that for a routine. She would cross her arms in front of her chest and then do these motions, or she'd go in a circle and blow kisses to the crowd. LOL She then danced to a slower country song and one of the lines was "You just don't love me anymore". When that part came, she would wipe away a pretend tear. LOL We were ROLLING with laughter. It's a moment I'll never forget that's for sure. We are definitely going to have our hands full with her as she gets older!!!! Micah loved to dance too and was boppin to the music almost the entire time. I'll have pictures later today and will post them then.

A Baby Dream

Ok, so I always have very vivid dreams in pregnancies. Anyways, last night I was having some BH contractions when I went to bed. No big deal. I get them a lot. In my dream I had to go to the bathroom and so was walking down the hallway. I felt really sick all of the sudden and stopped and leaned against the wall for support. I knew I wasn't going to make it to the bathroom cause I was going to get sick if I went any further so I walked back to my bed and laid down. 10 minutes later, I was pushing! I pushed out a beautiful baby GIRL. I couldn't get the placenta to deliver, I think because the birth happened so fast and my body just stopped contracting (although it wasn't contracting to begin with). I called the midwife and told her I just had the baby and that I needed her to come over. While the baby appeared to be stable and breathing well, I couldn't get the placenta pushed out. She came over and started asking all sorts of questions about contractions and I realized that what I had thought were BH contrax for that past week, were actually very low pain contrax that were dilating me and getting me ready. It took 2 days for the placenta to deliver on it's own (we decided that it wasn't hurting anything and not to intervene).

Talk about a weird dream. 10 minutes of labor? And a Girl???? I wonder if THAT is a sign???

Another blog?

Yep, another one. I've really decided this is going to be the best way to keep in touch with family and friends. Where else can I talk about my kids and post pictures that everyone can see? I can post all my pictures on my photobucket accounts, but there aren't any stories. I can email pictures, but have to send it to so many people and attach pictures which can get lost. This seems like a good option. We'll see how it goes.
